When it comes to online casinos, what color scheme comes to mind? Perhaps black and gold, the standard that exudes luxury and money? Or maybe something a bit more friendly, like red and white? Well, how about “enough pink to give you diabetes”? Yeah, Sugar96 Casino certainly lives up to its name with an “inspired” choice for its overall interface and color scheme. To say that it’s difficult to look at would be an understatement.
But hey, we at casinoaustraliaonline.net have never judged a book (or, well, a casino) by its cover! As such, we decided to swallow the pink, sugary sweetness and dive deeper, examining Sugar96 Casino’s games and promotions, as well as safety features, support options, and anything else that the site can offer players just like you. And at the end of our review, we’ll evaluate all that information and let you know if we can recommend signing up for this unusual site.
No Deposit Bonus – AU$9.60 Upon Registration
Before we dive further into the bonuses of Sugar96 Casino, it’s very important to point out that most of them haven’t been described particularly well. The site in general is a mess full of confusing menus and baffling design choices. Entire pages seem to be made up of just a single jpeg, like some high school student’s first HTML project. As such, a lot of the bonuses we’re about to describe haven’t been properly defined on the site itself, and it’s impossible for us to share information that we don’t have.
Case in point: the no deposit bonus, which claims to grant you AU$9.60 once you complete your registration. Why that amount was chosen in particular instead of AU$10 (Sugar96 Casino only accepts Australian dollars, so it wasn’t a conversion issue) is anyone’s guess, but you can use it to wager on a selection of games. If you win, you can withdraw AU$50, as long as “you hit 180 credit”, which we assume means winning enough to turn that free AU$9.60 into AU$180.
Sadly, that’s really where the information on the casino begins and ends. We don’t know how long you’ll have to use the bonus, or any
Welcome Bonus – 50% Match up to AU$500
If you’ve been following our reviews for a while, you’d know that we typically scoff at welcome bonuses that offer only a 100% match, considering that number to be far too small for such an important bonus. So imagine our surprise when Sugar96 offers only half that. To give you a hint, it was a mixture of shock and amusement.
Indeed, the first time you place a deposit at this casino, the only thing you’ll get is a 50% match up to AU$500 – you won’t even receive any free spins or any other perks! The silver lining is that the wagering requirements of this particular bonus are only x6 (as opposed to x30-35 like at most casinos), meaning that, theoretically, it’d be much easier to withdraw, which would make up for its small size.
With that said, it’s important to point out that Sugar96 Casino have not specified the amount of time in which you’ll need to complete these x6 wagers (could be 2 weeks or an hour, or anything in between). And even if you were able to complete all requirements, there’s still no guarantee that the casino will let you withdraw anything at all – but we’ll get into that a bit later.
Additional Bonuses at Sugar96 Casino
To its credit, Sugar96 Casino does offer a wide assortment of different bonuses. But since none of them are particularly well described, and the support team didn’t give us a lot of useful answers, we’ll only briefly mention each promotion without delving too deep into it.
For example, there’s the “Daily Bonus Slot” reload bonus which will grant you a 10% match up to AU$200 every day for you to use on pokies, or the “Unlimited” bonus which (as the name suggests) can be claimed indefinitely for 5% up to AU$200. It’s also worth pointing out the site’s various referral bonuses which are essentially like an affiliate program that any ordinary player can join. If someone signs up with your link, you’ll receive up to 5% of their deposits and a $5 bonus from the casino.
Honestly, none of these promotions sound particularly appealing. On top of that, as mentioned, they also aren’t very well described, and chances are a lot of them have hidden caveats and pitfalls that you wouldn’t know about until you’re already knee-deep in them. While there are plenty of offers to choose from (including some that we haven’t mentioned), it’s just hard for us to recommend actually taking advantage of any of them.
Well, the bonuses of Sugar96 sure aren’t great – but that shouldn’t matter as long as the games are decent, right? That’s what people care about! Well, if you had any hopes of a great collection of pokies and table games, we advise you to abandon them. The game section of Sugar96 is, somehow, even worse than its middling bonuses.
Even if you manage to look past the strange interface, you’ll still quickly find yourself with barely anything to do. Sugar96 will proudly offer you three whole sections, but all of them are nearly empty once you start exploring them. The sports section undoubtedly has it the worst, with just one activity you can place bets on (a limited amount of football matches, as far as we can tell), but the others aren’t exactly filled to the brim with content, either.

You’ll likely notice two things once you open up the Sugar96 Casino pokies section: first, the games are hidden behind subsections depending on their providers (and you need a verified account to even see what games are in each section), and second, most of the providers are ones you’ve never heard of by name.
With hundreds, maybe even thousands of casino game developers out there, it’s only natural that even we haven’t heard of all of them. But do companies like “PUSSY888”, “XE88” and “918KAYA” even sound real to you? As far as we were able to determine in our research, some of those companies actually provide fake casino games that are intended to imitate those created by far more notable developers.
As if the quality of the games wasn’t bad enough, the quantity is also greatly diminished, with just a few dozen pokies available when all is said and done. Most online casinos have anywhere between 2,000 and 5,000 games on offer – so what is Sugar96’s excuse for having only around a hundred, the vast majority of which by unknown devs?
The silver lining here is that at least Sugar96 Casino’s live dealer section is a little bit better than its meager pokie offerings. The bad news is that it’s still not very good, mostly consisting of live rooms by providers that one would not exactly consider high quality. Unless you’ve dreamed about playing at the rooms of “Sexy Baccarat” and “CT855”, of course.
Once again, the available rooms are divided by providers, which makes finding the game you want to play a complicated chore. Let’s say that you want to play some craps – do you think that “Big Gaming” has it or “SA Gaming”? The only way to find out is by looking at both providers’ pages, which is just unnecessarily slow and clunky. There’s no excuse for the lack of a simple search option, or at least a list of all available room on the same page. It’s beyond lazy – it’s downright infuriating.
Thought we left the worst behind us? Don’t be so sure, since Sugar96 Casino’s payment options are just as strange as its games and bonuses. At a glance, it doesn’t seem like there’s anything wrong here, as the minimum deposit and withdrawal are both very reasonable. You can deposit as little as AU$10 and will need to win at least AU$30 to withdraw, which is perfectly valid.
The issue comes when you look at the available payment methods – as of the time of writing, you can only make deposits or withdrawals via bank transfer and PayID (a system that, as you may know, is for national bank transfers). So, basically, you can only use one payment method to deposit and withdraw. You can’t even use crypto! We’ve never seen an online casino that dropped the ball so bad when it comes to the part that directly brings them revenue!

Bank transfers may not only be inconvenient, but they’re also extremely slow. If you’ve ever required a refund that was sent directly to your bank account, you probably had to wait for days before the money was actually reflected and ready to use. This is because banks put every single transaction through rigorous verifications before they allow it to finish.
So, how long is it going to take until your casino transfer is completed? While Sugar96 Casino doesn’t provide estimates, usually it takes about 5-10 business days for such transactions to be fully wrapped up. That is, of course, if Sugar96 sends your money in the first place, but that’s a discussion for a little bit later in our review.
Quite a few online casinos will offer their players some kind of VIP or loyalty initiative in order to keep them content and rewarded for the long haul. After all, if a player wishes to wager consistently at your site rather than at any of the hundreds of others, they should be rewarded for it, right? Well, Sugar96 Casino disagrees, as they don’t currently have any VIP programs as far as we’ve been able to tell.
Admittedly, though, this isn’t as bad as it sounds at first. As mentioned, VIP programs are mostly there to reward existing players, and those can already take advantage of a lot of promotions, such as daily reload bonuses. These bonuses aren’t very good, but they do exist, lessening the need for a separate VIP initiative.
Just like with the VIP program, Sugar96 Casino does not allow players to participate in tournaments – and this is a far bigger transgression than just lacking VIP levels. Pokie tournaments have become such a staple of the online casino industry that we’re legitimately starting to see sites almost entirely dedicated to them – and rather successfully, at that!
For Sugar96 Casino to not offer any tournaments, not even Drops & Wins (which are typically offered by the game provider rather than the casino itself), is sure to alienate a large chunk of pokie aficionados. Then again, Sugar96’s low amount of pokies might have already done that anyway.
Unfortunately, Sugar96 Casino does not specify whether it requires its players to be verified or not. Under normal circumstances, casino gamers will need to provide a few documents in order to prove their identity (like a proof of ID, or paperwork containing their current address). This is done in order to prevent money laundering, and in compliance with the demands of both law enforcement and major financial institutions.
Sugar96 Casino only works with bank transfer, so it stands to reason that the casino would like you to verify yourself before you can withdraw anything. However, we weren’t able to find any information on whether that is the case or not, and we were not able to ask support about it for reasons that we’ll get into a bit later. As such, the verification process here remains a mystery… But not one that you should overly concern yourself with, given the fact that Sugar96 is very unsafe to play at with or without verifications.
If you’ve read our review so far, then you already know that Sugar96 Casino is not a legitimate site, nor is it worth taking a risk on it by putting down money. But if you skipped ahead and just wanted to hear our safety reasoning, then first of all, welcome! And second, get ready for so many red flags that you might wonder whether you’re taking a swim in the Red Sea.
Perhaps the biggest one of all is that Sugar96 Casino is unlicensed and has an unknown owner. The lack of license is already a really big deal, as it means that the site is not accountable for any scams it may pull off. Even if it literally steals money away from players, it won’t be punished even in the smallest way. Granted, Sugar96 Casino claims to be licensed by Curacao, but as far as we’ve been able to tell, their claim is unfounded, and the link that should confirm it is non-existent. Instead, they’ve simply put a JPEG of the Curacao logo on a few of their pages with no further claims, not even a license number! Anyone can do that!
But far more concerning than that is the fact that Sugar96 Casino’s owner is unknown, which is absolutely a sign that they do not wish to be found. Ask yourself why that is, and whether a legitimate company would ever hide its name from its customers. No matter how we look at it, Sugar96 Casino is looking painfully fake.
Most people tend to take the support team of their favorite online casino for granted… Until they come across a casino like Sugar96 where the support is practically non-existent. For starters, we were not able to find a support e-mail you can use, only a live chat function. This is hardly ideal – not everyone can commit themselves to a live chat, which is why basically every online casino we’ve reviewed that has any kind of support team at all also maintains an inbox.
But the much bigger problem is that Sugar96’s live chat doesn’t seem to be functioning well. We tried multiple times to reach out to them (trust us, we had a lot of questions about it), but alas, we never received an answer. Was the casino abandoned with just the lights left on? Were our requests simply not getting through? Were we being deliberately ignored? Sadly, we don’t have an answer to any of these.

What’s notable about Sugar96 Casino is that, unlike most other modern casinos, it actually offers a dedicated mobile app that you can download and install… At least if you use an Android device. Unfortunately, we were not able to test it, as the site is already looking very sketchy, and we did not think it would be a good idea to install any files from it. Remember that installing apk files directly (rather than from the Google Play Store) bypasses Google’s safety verification procedures, and you should never do it unless you trust the source of the file. Alas, we did not.
No worries, though! Untrustworthy folks like us, as well as people who own an iOS device, can still play at Sugar96 Casino via their browsers. The bad news is that the site runs just as poorly on mobile as it does on desktop, to the point where it was almost difficult to even navigate the pages. Perhaps they didn’t put much work into it because they assumed most people would be downloading their installable app, but somehow, we doubt that the app would be a considerable improvement.

Yes. The casino only supports AU$ as a currency option as of the time of writing.
Yes, but the selection is extremely limited and not comparable to most other bookmakers.
Once you sign up, you’ll be issued a unique referral link. You’ll be rewarded every time someone uses your link to sign up and then makes their first deposit.
No. Only bank transfer is available for both deposits and withdrawals.
This casino does not currently offer a VIP program to its players.
Sugar96 Casino is a scam with a capital S. It’s an extremely unsafe online casino that not only hides behind an unknown owner, but doesn’t even offer the basic protections of a license. Not only that, but it also accepts only bank transfer as a payment method, which means that you’ll need to disclose sensitive banking information to people whose identity you don’t even know. That is a huge no-no as far as we’re concerned.
But hey, let’s just put all that aside and pretend that the casino is perfectly safe and legal! Why would you play here? To experience its scarce collection of a few dozen games, or poorly defined 5% match bonuses? Why subject yourself to this when there are dozens, if not hundreds of much better casino sites? We’ve reviewed many of them right here on our site, just sign up for one of them and don’t even bother with Sugar96.
